BRYAN ROBERTSON, Holistic TRAUMA Therapist in PASADENA, CA

“Trauma is not what happened to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.

You’ve spent years perfecting the art of looking like you have it all together.

On the outside, you are hitting the marks and keeping the pace, but…. privately, it feels like you are just performing a role you didn’t really sign up for.

You look like you’re handling it, building the career, carrying responsibility, and showing up for everyone. But underneath, you’re replaying conversations, questioning your reactions, and wondering why certain things still hit so deeply when you “should be fine by now.”  It is that 3:00 AM mental loop where the burnout finally catches up and leaves you wondering why success still feels so much like survival mode.

If you are tired of just being fine and ready for a reality that actually feels as good as it looks on paper, then you are in the right place.

If you’ve been searching for a therapist who truly gets you — your story, your identity, your trauma — you can stop looking.

Bryan Robertson, queer LGBTQ+ affirming trauma therapist in Pasadena California | Holistic Trauma Therapy

Hi, I’m BRYAN.

I believe one-size-fits-all therapy rarely works because real transformation requires looking at the entire story of who you are. Rather than just treating symptoms, my approach focuses on healing at the root to create lasting change.

My work is built on a holistic and trauma-informed approach designed for anyone feeling the heaviness of anxiety and depression or the complex layers of trauma that make it hard to move forward.

While I specifically support high achievers and the LGBTQ+ community, I am here for anyone navigating the deep work of identity or the specific wounds of religious trauma. We go beneath the surface by using somatic work to address how stress sits in your shoulders and your gut, along with depth psychology and parts work to understand the different sides of you that feel at odds.

I identify as a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent nerd, and I have worked to create a grounded and intentional environment where you can embrace your authentic self, unmasked and unapologetic. This is a space where your drive and your humanity can finally coexist without you ever having to edit the parts of yourself that feel “too much” or “not enough.” My practice is deeply rooted in being culturally inclusive, neuro-affirming, and queer-affirming because I believe your specific identity and history are essential to the healing process.

It is a place for the seekers and the storytellers to put down the weight of performing and just be. If you are ready to stop the cycle and start living a life that is authentically yours, let us get into it.

Are you ready to stop surviving the life you built and start living one that truly reflects who you are?

I believe authentic living begins with recognizing how trauma, survival patterns, and external expectations have shaped your life. From that awareness, you can choose a path that reflects who you truly are — not just who you had to become.

What’s it like to work with me?

  • Many issues such as relationship conflict, emotional shutdown, substance use, or video game addiction can be rooted in unresolved trauma. Trauma isn’t only major events — it can include chronic stress, family dynamics, identity-based rejection, or pressure to suppress emotions. A trauma-informed therapist can help you explore whether survival patterns are shaping your current behaviors and relationships.

  • High-functioning anxiety and emotional disconnection are common among men and LGBTQ+ individuals who have learned to perform, achieve, or “stay strong” to survive. Success does not erase trauma. Holistic trauma therapy helps regulate the nervous system, address underlying wounds, and reconnect you to a sense of safety and authenticity.

  • Yes, I provide a deeply affirming space for LGBTQ+ individuals to navigate the intersections of identity and trauma. As a queer person myself, I understand that the weight of the past often includes specific wounds like rejection, religious trauma, or the constant pressure to "code-switch" just to feel safe. My approach is rooted in the belief that your identity is not something to be managed, but a vital part of your story that deserves to be honored. Together, we work to unmask the internal scripts that no longer serve you, using a trauma-informed and neuro-affirming lens to help you reclaim a sense of safety and belonging within yourself.

  • Yes. Compulsive technology, overworking, substance use, or emotional avoidance often function as nervous system regulation strategies. Rather than shaming the behavior, we explore what it protects and how trauma may be driving it. From there, we build healthier regulation skills rooted in embodiment and self-awareness.

  • Holistic trauma therapy goes beyond conversation. It integrates evidence-based trauma treatment, parts work, and embodiment practices to address how trauma lives in both the mind and body. The goal is not just symptom management — it’s transformation, integration, and lasting change.

Healing is Possible.
