Clients come to us from across the San Gabriel Valley, from South Pasadena and San Marino, from Altadena and Arcadia, from La Cañada Flintridge and Sierra Madre, from Monrovia and Glendale and Burbank. Some drive fifteen minutes. Some drive forty. Some have never made the drive at all and meet with us from home.
The Valley Has a Particular Kind of Quiet
There is something specific about this part of Los Angeles County. The houses are older. The trees are taller. There is a settledness to it, a sense that people here have arrived somewhere and are meant to be grateful.
And there is an expectation that comes with that. The San Gabriel Valley holds a lot of people who did what they were supposed to do. Who went to the schools, took the jobs, bought the houses, raised the children who are now taking the jobs and buying the houses. Multigenerational families where the achievement is the love language. Immigrant families where the sacrifice of one generation became the obligation of the next. Professionals whose competence is so complete that no one has thought to ask how they are in years.
It is a good place to live and a hard place to fall apart.
What We See in This Room
The person who has been the reliable one since childhood and cannot locate the moment they agreed to it.
The adult child of parents who gave up a country so that this life could exist, carrying a debt that was never itemized and can never be paid.
The physician at Huntington or Kaiser who can hold another person's worst day without flinching and cannot sit still on a Sunday.
The one whose marriage looks fine and feels like two people managing a household.
The one who has done therapy before, more than once, and found it kind and insufficient.
None of this is unusual here. It is nearly the water.
How We Work
THE HOLISTIC DIFFERENCE
Holistic Trauma Therapy® is a depth-oriented practice. That word matters. Depth psychology means we follow the symptom inward rather than managing it at the surface. The anxiety is not the problem to be solved. It is the door.
Within that lens we work with parts of you, with the protective strategies that formed early and are still running. We work somatically, because the body kept a record the mind did not authorize. And we use Holistic EMDR where reprocessing is what a memory needs, always after your nervous system has the resources to hold it.
This is slower than most therapy. It is meant to be. What formed over decades does not unwind in eight sessions, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.
In Person in Pasadena
65 North Madison Avenue, Suite 707, Pasadena, CA 91101
The building has an attached lot with paid parking, and metered street parking nearby at a nominal cost. We are minutes from the 210 and the 134, which puts most of the Valley within a reasonable drive.
Some of this work benefits from a shared room. Certain somatic sessions, certain EMDR sessions, certain conversations that want a body in the space rather than an image on a screen. If that is what serves you, the door is here.
Or Virtually, From Wherever You Are
Many of our San Gabriel Valley clients have never sat in the Pasadena office. They meet us from a home office in Arcadia, a parked car outside a Glendale medical building, a spare bedroom in San Marino after the house has gone quiet. The work goes just as deep. Depth psychology and parts work translate cleanly to telehealth, and for some people the distance is precisely what makes the first honest sentence possible.
You do not have to decide this now. It is a conversation, not a rule.
